I can’t believe my baby is in the double digits! Where has the time gone?! It feels like I just went into labor with him yesterday. Well, emotionally/mentally, anyway. Certainly not physically. Ha!
We started off our celebration w/ presents!
So then we moved onto cake. It was a spice cake w/ cream cheese frosting. I felt rather creative when I made some of the frosting yellow to put in between the layers, then green frosting to go on the top and sides… Then I made blue frosting to write with. It was quite colorful!
The next morning at 0-dark-30, we set off on a trip that we had been planning for a few weeks. The NC Zoo is pretty awesome, because if you’re a homeschooler, you can call 2 weeks ahead of time and get free tickets for one teacher/parent and all of the school aged children. Zachary had asked Dad if we could go to the Zoo for his birthday… well, we made it happen! Zachary was SOOO stoked! 2.5-3 hours later… we arrived:
We did see a LOT more… but really, this post, itself, would be 10 pages long if I shared every single picture. 😉
I think Zachary had a wonderful birthday! We sure did have a lot of fun celebrating it! 🙂
I have the sweetest kids on the face of the planet. Seriously. I do.
So the three of them collaborated together to make Jason and I an Easter card. Cute, right?
Oh it gets better. On the Friday prior to Easter, Connor was adamant to go check the mail. But I kept telling him I’d get it when the mailman came.
We had left to run a couple of errands and when we got home, I checked the mail.
Do you know what time?
Well, let me help you out.
It’s almost Easter.
And a certain little girlie of mine is going to need an Easter dress.
So I’ve been planning on what dress to make the little Tawna Jr. I’m so excited! Yesterday I went and bought fabric for her Easter dress and then just another dress to hang in her closet.
I also bought 2 different flannels for the boys to have new pajama pants. They’re going to be so thrilled!
And guess what? I was able to scratch off a thing or two on my little list to the
right LEFT! YAY!
So without further adieu, here are some pictures of my upcoming sewing projects!
Because my kids love it too.
Yesterday, all of our school books arrived for the 2010/2011 school year. I LOVE when our books come. It’s like Christmas. And every single year, I evaluate where we are in our current books, always thinking to myself, “Are we in a position to throw out the old and bring out the new?” We never are, but it’s a nice thought!
So, when I said, very happily, that our school books are here… the kids CHEERED!
Of course this video is just a reenactment as I didn’t realized I’d need the video camera on me. 🙂 So here is exactly what the kids did the first time:
And just for a little fun, here’s a cute little video the kids and I made last week. We all had a blast doing it! Enjoy! 🙂
Said my SHOCKED child, Connor. We eat eggs a lot. Well, they do as eggs aren’t my favorite. Anyway, so fried eggs and scrambled eggs are getting a bit boring. SO – this morning, I tried my hand at poaching them.
SUCCESS! I’m so thrilled to say, that though they don’t LOOK perfect, they came out perfect.
The boys finished their breakfast in record time today.
Kylie? Not so much….
I think next time, I’ll make some super yummy hollaindaise sauce to go on top. I love it when I try something new and it’s SUCCESSFUL! Unlike my homemade ravioli….
When I’m not the one that has to read them! Ha ha ha! I was thinking this morning about how I hate reading super long read alouds. I was also thinking about how my kids are really good readers and I was holding them back by not letting THEM read the lessons out loud. YAY! I love homeschooling, have I mentioned that? 🙂
